Ferrara

Ferrara grabbed my heart. They have a good used books store (via delle scienze 12) and a couple of good cloth store. I went shopping. And, of course, the town is beautiful.

Flashback

He is showing a sweet card that he got for his 6th birthday from his cousins in America. He also got a cute pj's, overalls, like those he used to wear as a baby. He put them on right away and asked if he could also sleep in his new outfit that night. Oh, and a calculator, he also got that.

Verona, more

Italy, to be continued

We were busy wanting to see everything. I don't know if the little guy ever goes with us again. He did not complain though. He only cried on one day when we were sick, laying in bed and getting our strength back together, then he cried that he wanted to go home badly. On the following day he was happily jumping around with us again. This is Verona.

Padova

It was a sightseeing tour. And we also wanted to get the "southern feeling". Oh, yes, mainly because of the snow up there in Europe, behind the Alps. 2-6th pictures show the Cornaro loggia and odeo, a piece of late Renaissance architecture in Padova. It is very decayed and, I don't know why, this is what makes it look especially precious, probably because it is on the way to complete destruction. It exists only now.
The sky was blue and although I was aware that this is February I had a feeling in the back of my mind that at the end of our tour we are somehow destined to go to the sea.
I tend to compare places we saw with Prague and life in Bohemia. I will be quiet about that, I will keep that bunch of complaints for myself and my husband.

Milano

Milano looks gloomy in the pictures and so it was while we visited because it rained and it was cold. But I liked the city and although I had been there before I had underestimated its charm. It is a city. And, I don't know why, sometimes I like gloomy atmospheres. Maybe because I can handle darker moods better now. However, I had also underestimated the cultural and artistic richness waiting for us in various churches. So much beautiful stuff! We did not see Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper but the churches, empty and with no tourists inside, were worth seeing.
Travelling to Padova on the following day.
