July has gone

maminky diplomka, část Červenec / mum´s thesis, one of the twelve parts

I don´t mean to be sentimental, the title just occured to me, because I am putting up this picture. It is very summery and so it is my holiday at my parents, with the little guy and finally with the bigger guy as well. Lot of swimming and sunbathing. The river is amazing.

So, the piece is called July. My mum made it as one of many for her thesis from Art education sometime in the 80s. It is the only one she didn´t get rid of and it still decorates the hall in the old house. It is also the nicest.

It is a great Batik...you know, Batik is timeless, but sometimes colors can be such a perfect calendar. In the 80s colors like that salmon pink, peach, and green were so predominant. I can't believe July is over...pretty soon the weather will start turning colder here.

How beautiful it is! So nice that you still have it. Enjoy the rest of the summer! I feel the same when July is over, that it has gone by too fast. However, I love the fall!

I am curious where you live. I read further down that you live in Europe...

That batik has a ripe summer feel to it. Since August started, we've had really autumn feel up here, I would even say cold. I hope there's still summer with summery weather left for you.

I think the batik pictures nicely the ripeness of mid-summer.The yellow tones of it remind me of the harvest ready crops in the fields. I hope you have nice summery weather!
