A postgrad mum

I cut his beautiful hair. Just the longest parts, curly though, and... beautiful.

I picked all my courage and went to the school today to present a proposal for my future postgrad. Seems that I might end up doing that, the professor liked it or, let's say, didn't have any objections. Now I only need to pass the exam and then I am TRAPPED AGAIN in the system. This time I hope I will only get benefits out of it. In this country, the hardest part is to get to the university at the very beginning, to pass the entering exam to start the master or bachelor. Postgrad and such are simply like a cherry on top of the cake. Well, that is what they say ...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
On your making a decision for your future!
Is your university system so inflexible as to feel like a trap? Over here in my university years, the burocracy tangle was tight and suffocating, but all the rest felt really like flying of the mind!
What a momentous day: first haircut and postgrad proposal!

Just found your blog through Francesca's one. But I just wanted to say that I am taking my Ph.D. at university (in Norway) and I totally understand your thoughts! I just began in january and I was worried how it would go with my babe at the kindergarden, but it went so fine!
And now that I am back at university as a mother, not only as a student, well, I see things differently. I don't feel the same pressure as I did before, I am able to relax and let go of work in the evenings cause my priorities have changed. I'm sure you will do great at your studies!

Thank you, ladies, the trap is the feeling of having a demanding project. Basically just being inscribed in an institution for me might feel like a trap, but I don't get so serious about it anymore. As, you, Victoria suggest, being mum, the value scale changes and what we need is a calm and peaceful life.
