Mnichov

Pictures from short yet desired trip to Munich this Saturday. I spent lot of time in Munich in the past, still it feels little undiscovered for me. Living must be easier here, although more expensive. It doesn't feel exactly close to my heart but there is something familiar, maybe because I come just from the other side of the border, Munich is only three hours away. So it is more the landscape, especially the hilly parts of Bavaria that I like a lot. But I also like the old architecture, richly decorated churches and chateaus, kind of too much, but I find myself enjoying them. They are spread all over the country, and somehow it fits there perfectly. Art and landscape used to work well together.

I was once in Munich while cruising through Europe by train. I was not really impressed by the city, but then again I am not really a big city girl. I found the north of Germany to be much nicer.

Yes, in North I liked Lubeck and Bremen, I dont remember the landscape so much but I enjoyed the Baltic coast, kind of rough and wild compared what I had experienced.

My distant memory of Munich (I flew through once, and somehow managed to leave the airport for the day) is that it's a city with a small town feel to it. I certainly never realized you were so closed to it! Must revise my geography!

My brother lived in Munich for several years and I have visited a lot. I thought the city had a few interesting neighborhoods, but as a whole it has not been that dear to my heart. Luckily he moved to Berlin this year, so I can visit, when I'm in Germany. And I really really want to go to Prague one day... Ever since the "Unbearable Lightness of Being".
