puppets
Lot of hand puppets are being swung around these days, these months. We even made a short video. It is not worth showing but we had fun while making it. Actually, it was kind of the "I dont know what I am doing" until I accidentally dropped the camera and that caused a big stir and a flood of unrefined invention.

Room
I got a wrapping paper that is a too nice to use it that way. The little guy does not care when I decorate his room. I don't do it too much, I like better when he does it, his touch is more fresh. There are still lot of stuffed toys around, they are actually more favorite then Legos now. He replays the real life with them, I think, they act like people and animals at the same time. It is kind of surreal to play that way.

Fish problem
We had fish for dinner, kind of frustrating experience for the whole family, I am afraid, the fish twisted on the pan and I could not fry it and I did not know how to solve it.... I am not going to say more, we ate it, we had dinner in the end. Meanwhile, I dont know if this was a coincidence, the little guy started to draw sharks. I have to say they are pretty good. Maybe it was a drawing therapy to deal with mummy's freak-out. A short freak-out. I managed to smile in the end. So that is the fresh and incredibly interesting news from our part.
Now the pictures:
Fish, again, project, a theater in which Domik and I will take a part. If we ever finish it.
4th picture - I like a lot, it represents the Big Bang. He has a whole series on the theme of the Universe.
The two last ones are from my home town, we are into long walks now around the city. Domik looks like a little elegant boy jogging in the last picture.

Book
I was packing a present for somebody but before I played with the present myself. The book is more cool than I expected. I want it for myself now. Anyway, I managed to convince myself and keep packing. I hope the little presentee does not follow my blog. The title of the book translates Circus of the Street.

New apartment

We redesigned the apartment. New wallpapers, painted with pencils. Giant mushrooms in the room. Plants growing from sea shells. The plants throw shadows on the wall and create faces. Or one face. And one sea shell.
Yeah, yeah, I know, those mushrooms, my greatest sculptural achievement ever, that I have to include into pictures every now and then, so there is no way you would believe me I was showing you something life size in the first picture. Mushrooms, they are great props for photo shoot of any theme and subject.
I was actually getting tired of our handy craft weeks with Domík during his sick time. He is in school again and now I can start missing it from the beginning.

guys

I was watching this, a nice short film, an animation playing with stones. It is quite enchanting. Then I turned and one of the guys from the film was on our floor. Domík made it, inspired by the film. It is one of the rare human representations that he has ever done, he doesn't draw much. I like the neck and breast from the shell.
I wanted to give it a try, too.
Kids, they want complicated toys and then they play with a few stones. It didn't last, I must say.

Nativity scene

Improvised nativity scene. Little abstract and that is what makes it. All family contributed. Domík came up with the light. I was proud. We thought we would have it for Christmas instead of our normal nativity scene. Then Domík accidentally kicked it and then he kicked it little more, not accidentally. That was the short life of our new and theatrical Bethlehem.Friday, November 18, 2011
Hold your horses

Hot wheels in the picture is Domík's and mine common project. It is a magazine. a home made one. Domík came up with it. And mummy felt like 10 years old ardent boy working on the picture for his pencil case. The first picture: Dinosaurs by daddy.
The last: Book by Andy Warhol's mother for her little Andy. I think it is called Holy cats. The picture comes from a bizarre book on Warhol's relation to his native country and his family. I recommend. But you have to wait for the English edition.
Other than that:
I recall last year and our Christmas preparations. The little guy was ill and we had a lot of time to plan. We made gigantic gingerbread house. This years is different. I have more of interesting work and sometimes I enjoy it. I do not know yet if we pass this Christmas at home or in my parents' house. I can still make some gingerbread cookies. But before I will make three Wiener Schnitzles and we head off away from the town tomorrow for the walk in the wood (and in the fog which is actually smog - but not in the wood, right?).

Art therapy, again
Relieving after many days of work. The work continues but without catastrophic deadlines. I bought Domík a "book of works", this is what he calls it, it was Fuoriborgo's influence when she wrote about it. It has many nice techniques that my kid can follow, I think he will use the book even when he is older. This collage is one of the "works" that came out of it. Ours is nicer, I need to say. I helped Domík, I need to say too. Well, Domík helped me. We took turns in cutting, sticking, deciding where goes what. I do not need to hide that I like this kind of work, it is a therapy.Tuesday, May 3, 2011
Garage

My creative vein found its fruition after a long time. The requirement was a garage for his new robot-transform-into-car toy. It is one of his first toys that does not seem exactly pretty to his mummy. Important was, anyway, that he liked the idea of the garage with a poster area on its both walls. I even sneaked in a master's painting over the work table inside of the shed. It is going to have a detachable roof. Maybe.Other than that, we are busy and sick on top of it.
